The New UCF Arena at Knights Plaza, opening in Fall 2007, will be the largest live entertainment and sports facility in East Orlando. Featuring a seating capacity of over 10,000 and amenities including 16 luxury suites, club lounge and 100,000 square feet of neighboring retail and restaurant space, the facility will drastically change the face of live entertainment in Central Florida. Through partnerships with national and local promoters, the inaugural lineup of shows will include world famous entertainers, beloved family shows, and special events rivaling any venue in the country.

What is the New UCF Arena?
The New UCF Arena is the name selected for the new arena on UCF campus. This is not an expansion of the existing UCF Arena. This is an entirely new structure built in front of the existing arena and representing
a significant improvement in both space and amenities. The facility will be the home court for the men’s and women’s basketball and women’s volleyball program and also play host to a myriad of live entertainment acts. The name Convocation Center is not necessarily the permanent name of the facility and could change due to a naming rights agreement.

What's happening to the old UCF Arena?
Don’t worry, UCF Arena is being put to good use. The existing UCF Arena will be closed down for refurbishment this June. During this period the facility will be repaired and remodeled to become the full-time practice facility for UCF Athletics. In addition, the existing arena will be utilized for smaller events including banquets and live theater events.

The Future
UCF Arena is managed by UPI LLC and Global-Spectrum, the fastest growing facility management company in the country. Together they will utilize strategic partnerships with local and national promoters ensuring the hottest acts and most popular shows will make a stop at Orlando’s newest venue. Furthermore, Global Spectrum prides itself on creating and cultivating new events, and will endeavor to produce a host of interesting shows and exhibitions appealing to a wide range of patrons. Given Global Spectrum’s aggressive booking and event creation approach and Orlando’s rapid population growth, UCF Arena and Convocation Center is poised to become one of the busiest and most sought after college venues in the country.
